The Hakkoryu Ryuko Dojo - Martial Arts Training Health Center has diversified its teachings to cover a more comprehensive form of self-defense. The school was first established in Portland, Oregon in May of 2015 by Sandaikichu Judan Shihan Jesus N. Bonilla.

He was trained under the guidance of Dr. Saul “Doc” Cohen, who is known within the martial arts community as a Shihan in both Yoshitsune and Hakkoryu Jujutsu and founder of the Tsgui-Ashi Do Jujutsu System. In 1972 Shihan Bonilla would later continue his training through Doc with the late Soke Micheal DePasquale Sr., in Yoshitsune Jujutsu, his training would continue to progress in Hakkoryu & Koho Shiatsu Igaku as a student under the guidance of Kaiden Shihan Sandaikichu “Soke Shingikai Kaicho (Chairman of the Board of Hakkoryu So Honbu Dojo).”
In 2010 Shihan Bonilla would later receive the prestige title of Menkyo and Kaiden Shihan from the head of the Hakkoryu organization himself Nidai Soke Okuyama, Omiya, Japan. Sandaikichu Shihan Bonilla would continue to receive both rare and prestigious titles such as Sandiakichu Shihan and Hachidan.
